Gedling Colliery CC

Welcome to Gedling Colliery Cricket Club

We are one of the most successful and progressive clubs in Nottinghamshire both on and off the field. We currently run 6 senior sides (4 on Saturdays and 2 on Sundays) in the Gunn & Moore South Nottinghamshire Cricket League and the Newark Alliance.

Over the past ten years our junior cricket set-up has gone from strength to strength. We now have over 100 junior cricketers on our books playing at Kwik Cricket level, U10’s, U11’s, U12’s, U13’s, U14’s and U15’s.

Our Plains Road Ground to be one of the most attractive in Nottinghamshire. Hidden away behind Plains Road and Mapperley Plains Social Club, the ground faces out over Mapperley Golf Course looking out spectacularly over Gedling and the Trent Valley towards the Vale of Belvoir. The Plains Road pitch has long been recognised as one of the very best batting wickets in the county, as those of us who bowl on it regularly will testify! Thanks to the great support that has been given to the cricket club in past years by the former Miners Welfare, and now Mapperley Plains Social Club the facitilies are second to none.

We are proud that the foundation has been selected as a charity supported by the 2012/13 Cope Cup competition.
